Villa “Dar Abiad” is a magnificent property located in the heart of the mythical Palmeraie of Marrakech. This superb family home was built by the famous architect Elie Mouyal and decorated by Jacqueline Foissac. The villa exudes an old-fashioned charm that transports you to the Marrakech of the 1970s that we all fantasized about.
One can easily imagine the figures of Yves Saint Laurent strolling in blue djellabah on the terraces or catch sight of Mick Jagger sharing a mint tea with Marianne Faithfull at the edge of the pool at sunset.
The villa can accommodate up to 16 people (12 adults and children) and is the perfect place to stay for an incredible holiday in Morocco. The exceptional charm of the place will seduce travelers in search of authenticity. No flashy luxury or modern equipment here, but a promise of calm and rest in a place that has been beautifully weathered by time, with discreet staff and family service.
Indoors
Made in a traditional and eco-responsible way, Dar Abiad was built by the best local craftsmen. The technique of tadelakt has been honored and adorns each room of the villa in different colors which gives it its unique character.
On the ground floor is the entrance which serves 3 double bedrooms with private bathrooms and small adjoining children’s bedrooms. The large living room, located under a dome without edges, is connected to the dining room for 12 people as well as to the large modern kitchen.
On the 1st floor, there are two red and white master suites, in tadelakt. Both bright and spacious, each has its
bathroom and a private terrace. This level also offers a large living room with a fireplace, extended by a large panoramic terrace over the entire length of the villa.
In the patio wing to the right of the entrance is the 6th double bedroom, added later and accessible only from the outside. This independent studio has an Andalusian suite and a shower room. The house also offers an air-conditioned indoor play area (with home cinema, gym, kids room).
Staff and service
Toiletries and bath items are provided as well as the services of the house staff (1 cook, 1 driver, 1 chambermaid, 1 housekeeper, 1 waiter, 3 gardeners, 1 caretaker) and daily cleaning.
The villa also offers the possibility of benefiting from other additional services, optionally and with supplement, such as babysitting, drinks, heating of the swimming pool (from March to November), use of the hammam, hammam treatments, laundry service.
The price does not include the cost of groceries, drinks and tips for staff.
Location
The villa is nestled in the historic heart of the Palmeraie, just 10 minutes from downtown Marrakech and its Medina.
Its access is via the circuit of the Palmeraie which connects the road to Casablanca to the road to Fez, one of the most popular routes in Marrakech.
Golf enthusiasts will find the Golf de la Palmeraie near the villa. An equestrian center is also nearby.
